So what you may ask does a moonshiner who once plied his trade in Cocke County, Tennessee have in common with Great Bear Lake?

Well, to be honest not a whole lot. But having said that, and although “Popcorn” never made it that far north, his Whiskey did.

Yes “Popcorn Sutton’s Tennessee White Whiskey,” which is a brand of whiskey now produced commercially following his death in 2009, did put in appearance at the big lake in 2015.

Where on Great Bear you might ask?

Well that’s a secret, much like the recipe for “Popcorn’s” famous home brew – but what I can tell you is that it’s smooth – mighty smooth!
